Knot Skills: Plank Pose

Plank pose, within the knot, is started sitting in the silk. Bring both legs up, rotate so that your back is resting on just one of the live ends of the silk. Bring the silk so that it rests on one shoulder, bring that same side leg (ie. if the silk is on your right shoulder, you bring your right leg) up, with foot flexed, stack your opposite side leg on top of your other leg. Push your legs straight out while simultaneously grabbing up above your shoulder. Straighten your body and arch your back. You can bring your opposite side leg up bent or straight in the air.

Knot Skills: Square Pose

Square Pose is a simple pose within the knot. Start by standing on the knot between the silks, holding on to each silk on each respective side. Slide one foot up the side of the silk, flexing the foot, and stepping down, repeating on the other side. This trick can also be achieved by pulling your body up, and bringing your feet up off the knot, and simultaneously spreading both legs out, feet flexed, on the rails of the silks, and then stepping down. Push arms out to make your body force the silk into a square shape.

Knot Mounts

There are many ways to mount into a knot, depending on the height of the knot and the participants skill level, there are many to choose from. Just like aerial hoop/lyra, there are many ways to get up and in.
One leg hook: Hold the silks above the knot, one in each had, infront of yourself. Invert/kick up in between the two silks and hook one leg.
Double leg hook: Hold the silks above the knot, one in each had, infront of yourself. Invert/kick up and bring both legs between the two silks, and hook both legs on one side.
Stomach Mount: Hold the silks above the knot, one in each had, infront of yourself. Invert/kick up and bring both legs between the two silks, follow all the way through, not hooking, to bring your body all the way through, ending on your stomach.
Side Mount: hold onto one side of the silk  with both hands, above the knot. Invert/kick up with legs straddling and the knot between your legs, hook one leg from the outside in between the two silks above the knot, then rotate your body around to find yourself laying stomach down with the knot between your crotch, in the knot.
Straddle: Hold the silks above the knot, one in each had, infront of yourself. Straddle up/back, then hook both legs on the silks just above the knot, and end in knee hang.

Knot Tying

How to tie a knot: There are two ways, on the floor and in the air. They both follow the same simple steps. There are also two ways to tie a knot on the ground, right side up, and upside down. This video demonstrates the upside down version. Soon to come are videos demonstrating right side up, and in the air.

Swim Climb

Swim climb, also known as: Same Side Straddle Climb

This climb is done by inverting with both silks on one side, hooking the same side leg, then reaching up above the knee and sitting up, then you must "swim" out of the dead end of the silk, throwing it over your back, then fully sitting up and repeating on alternating sides.

Hocks Climb

Hocks Climb, also known as Straddle Climb or Hock Climb.
Holding both silks in one hand, invert into straddle, and wrap or crochet the opposite side leg. Bend that knee, and then reach up above your knee, crunch up to sitting, lower your legs down and let the silk fall off, repeat alternating sides.
*tip* when stacking your hands before your invert, stack the hand on the same side as the leg you will be hooking, on the bottom.

Alternate hocks climb on split silks (also known as Hook climb):
